Anneth Lowen roughly translates from Cornish as “happy home”, which describes this beautiful self-catering holiday cottage. The detached, single-story property is in a peaceful hamlet near Boscastle on the North Cornwall coast. It has been a holiday home for over 20 years. A welcoming home-away-from-home for couples, families and friends, it sleeps four people in three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The large, secure, enclosed garden overlooking fields is ideal for children, dogs and relaxing on the patio. Even a friendly pub, the Horseshoe Inn (as seen in Doc Martin), which serves homemade food or a takeaway, is a five-minute walk away.
The property sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty above the Valency Valley. It’s surrounded by lush, fertile fields and farmland that make locally produced food and drink so good. The village is rural yet barely three miles from the coast and spectacular beaches, including Bude, Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay, Trebarwith and Polzeath. Strangles, Tregardock and Bossinney beaches never feel busy, even in summer.
The North Cornish coast is dramatically beautiful, with craggy cliffs and sandy beaches linked by the South West Coast Path. Admire the 223-metre sheer drop of High Cliff (standing well back from the edge if you’re at the top!) and the rocky shoreline leading to Boscastle Harbour, built when Elizabeth I was on the throne. Rocky Valley and Tintagel, with the incredible ruins of Tintagel Castle, are only a short drive from the cottage. If you prefer to explore by mountain bike, you’ll love having the wild trails of Bodmin Moor nearby. The traffic-free Camel Trail links Wadebridge and Padstow via an old railway line and is excellent for families. You’re only 15 miles from Port Isaac. With convenient access to the Atlantic Highway, it’s easy to reach other attractions like the Eden Project, Lanhydrock, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Accommodation Comprises:
Anneth Lowen is a detached cottage with accommodation entirely on the ground.
- The cottage is well-insulated with a modern heating system, ideal for chilly autumn evenings.
- A three-seater sofa and a two-seater provide ample room for everyone to sit and watch a film together in the cosy living area, complete with wide-screen TV and DVD player.
- The stylish kitchen provides quality appliances, including a full-size dishwasher, washer-dryer, electric hob, dual ovens and microwave. The fitted cupboards are stocked with equipment and utensils, making the kitchen/diner a practical and welcoming place for cooking and eating. The breakfast bar is ideal for a quick meal or as a working space. A Velux window ensures it is always light and airy.
A glazed door opens into a rear porch/utility room, providing an ideal dog dish space with access to the secure back garden.
- The main bedroom provides a standard double bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and a large wardrobe. It has an ensuite with a shower, WC, hand basin and de-misting mirror.
- Two further bedrooms provide one single and one small double, which are also furnished with a bedside table, reading light, wardrobes, and a handy storage shelf with an illuminated mirror. Each bed has a comfortable encased mattress, duvet, and pillows left clean and fresh for guests to pop on the linen.
- The family bathroom provides a large high-pressure digital walk-in shower, WC, hand basin, large illuminated, de-misting mirror, and storage shelf. A Bluetooth-enabled audio system adds a touch of holiday luxury.
Outside:
The cottage is set back from the quiet village road and has a large gravel driveway for easy, private parking. A secure rear garden is perfect for children and dogs to play safely. The patio next to the house has garden furniture to enjoy private alfresco dining or to relax.
Eating out or takeaway is a short walk to the local Horseshoe pub. Dog friendly, it has a garden and also sells fresh eggs.
Additional Information: Utilities and WiFi are provided. Guests are to bring towels and teatowels. One well-behaved dog is welcome by arrangement. Smoking is not allowed indoors.

Booking Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing to book Anneth Lowen. We look forward to welcoming you. By making this booking you are entering an agreement with us and declare that you are over 18 and a member of the holiday party.
Usage
The property is hired for holiday purposes only and our agreement to hire is not an Assured Shorthold Tenancy. You are responsible for the members of your party who should be as stated by you on the booking form or as subsequently agreed by us in writing. In the event of a breach of these conditions we reserve the right to re-enter the property and terminate the hire.
Prices
The price of the accommodation includes the following: Encased duvets and pillows, cleaning, hot water, central heating, Internet access (when requested). You will need to bring a sheet, duvet cover and pillowcases for each bed, and towels.
Payment
Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit for each week booked is payable at the time of booking and the balance of the hire charge is due no later than 6 weeks prior to date of arrival. For short breaks or bookings made less than 6 weeks
prior to date of arrival payment is due in full at the time of booking. All payments will be acknowledged in writing. Directions and information to assist you during your stay will be sent to you on receipt of full payment.
Dogs
Well-behaved dogs are permitted by prior arrangement only. We reserve the right to make an additional charge which will be agreed with you. Your dog(s) must be kept under control and not allowed onto the furniture or beds and
must not be left unattended in the property.
Acceptance of Children
We regret we cannot accept children under the age of 3.
Smoking
For the comfort of our guests smoking is not allowed inside the property.
Cancellation and Insurance
By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable. If you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even if we have not yet
received your balance. If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it, less a 10% administration fee. If we do not receive payment by the due date we reserve the right to cancel your booking and re-let.
Please note that your deposit is not refundable under any circumstances. We would recommend that you take out cancellation insurance to cover this cost.
Non-availability of Accommodation
We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival
Your accommodation will be available to you from 3:00pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time.
Late arrival procedure
Please ensure you contact us no later than 5:00pm to let us know if you will be arriving late.
Departure
Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10:00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £50 if you did not report this.

Subject to availability, we provide a telephone to contact the owner or emergency services. Call details are logged for accounting purposes.
Internet
Subject to availability, Internet access is provided free of charge on request. If you request this service you agree to abide by the service provider’s Terms and Conditions and to use the service for lawful purposes only. You agree to indemnify us in the event of any breach of these terms resulting from use of the service during your stay. The service is provided as is and is used at your own risk. If you experience any issues with the service we will endeavour to assist you whenever possible but cannot guarantee resolution.
If you use your own equipment we do not accept responsibility for any damage caused by use of the service.
The connection is monitored and a usage log is kept for the purpose of preventing access to illegal and undesirable material.
Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored on our computers. With your permission we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. We will not share your details with any third party.
