Our privately-owned lodge provides everything you need to enjoy a relaxing break away from your busy life. The lodge is situated in the west coast of Cumbria surrounded by beautiful views of the lake, sea and mountains.
We have priced the lodge breaks as weekly and Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday. We are, however flexible with our letting dates, so if you wish alternative start dates please contact us for prices and availability.
There is a minimum of 2 nights policy at the lodge.
The lodge has 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 with 2 twin bedrooms and 1 double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen including a full size freezer and fridge, dishwasher and washing machine (dishwasher tablets, washing powder and cleaning products are supplied) along with all essentials e.g. toaster and tableware, a dining room with extending table and 6 chairs. A living room with a smart TV and electric fire plus a corner suit and 2 armchairs make up the perfect place to rest and relax, sun and rain. The lodge also consists of 2 bathrooms, 1 of which is a Jack and Jill to the main bedroom with a shower and toilet and the other with a bath, shower over bath and toilet.
The lodge has patio doors opening up to decking which stretches from the main door to the front of the lodge allowing you to eat outside on the outdoor table and chairs or sit in the sun on the 2 comfortable reclining deck chairs.
Gas and electric are included. Bed linen, duvets, pillows and towels are also included. Please bring your own towels for the beach.
The park itself houses water sports on the lake (prices not included), fly fishing and a play park for children. With the RSPB Hodbarrow Nature Reserve just a 5-minute walk. Only a 15-minute drive to one of our personal favourite beaches at Silecroft. The unique village of Ulverston is just a 40-minute drive with lots of lovely places to eat (we suggest trying Naaz, an Indian cuisine). Lake Coniston is a 50-minute drive and Lake Windermere just over an hour or if you prefer a quieter lake then Wast Water is only 50 minutes from the park. If you like trains and the railway Ravenglass is a great place to go with only a 30 minute drive, a great pub we recommend; The Ratty Arms and a small gauge steam railway, also Millom has a train station going from Preston to Carlisle via Whitehaven; this, we find, is a lovely train ride with Carlisle being a great place to shop and Whitehaven having a great harbour for crabbing and also several streets of shops both unique and chain. Barrow is a 50-minute drive and a fantastic place to go for shopping, it has its own market and theatre which is worth checking out. If you just enjoy a ride out or looking at breath taking mountainous views there is The Hardknott Pass or The Wrynose Pass, both of which are beautiful, or if you’re feeling more energetic try climbing the Scafell Pike which is less than an hour’s drive away.
Millom has a wide selection of different cuisines; Indian, Chinese, Fish and Chips etc. We also recommend Naaz at Ulverston and The Ratty Arms at Ravenglass, as previously mentioned.
These are only a few suggestions and there will be many more leaflets and recommendations in the Lodge upon your stay.
