The Upper Eden Valley and Howgill Fells is in an especially beautiful and distinctive area known as the Westmorland Dales, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It’s an excellent location for anyone who enjoys spending time in scenic countryside and pretty villages and is perfectly placed for day trips to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
The local town is Kirkby Stephen (5 miles) with very pleasant independent shops and cafes, a visitor centre and a selection of really lovely walks and cycle rides. We encourage you to do your shopping there – it has all that you’re likely to need and you’ll be helping to keep our local shops busy and vibrant.
The pretty village of Ravenstonedale is nearby.

From M6 junction 38 At the roundabout take the A685 signposted to Brough. After about 6 and a half miles turn right at the big blue sign to Ravenstonedale. In 150 yards turn right at the signpost to Greenside. From Kirkby Stephen Follow the A685 south through Kirkby Stephen. Continue about 5 miles, down a long steep hill. At the bottom of the hill turn left (signposted Ravenstonedale). Stay on this road for about a third of a mile until you see the signpost for Greenside
