MCJ Cresswell Towers Caravans – woodlands caravan

Brand new Caravan with decking available to hire at cresswell towers Northumberland.
Dates available for 2022

Normal check in days are Mondays/Fridays / Saturdays for 3/4 /7/10/14 night stays. However other check in days can be arranged if required, we are flexible.
School holiday dates plentiful.

Our prices range from £180 for a 3/4 night stay during off peak. And from £300-£400 for a 3/4 night stay during peak season. 7 day stays will have a small discount applied.
Prices shown on the booking page are a good estimation of what we charge to hire our home from home caravan. We reserve the right at any time to change the stated price on here.

If your holiday is affected due to covid-19 (ie is cancelled by us due to park closure) you will get a full refund (including the deposit to secure your date) or a change of dates.

3 bedroom caravan – 1 double, 2 twins.
Fully equipped kitchen. Second toilet and shower room.

All bookings require a £50 -£100 deposit (to secure your date ) which is returnable after your stay if there is no damage. It’s non refundable if you cancel your stay.
Full cost of stay is due 6 weeks prior to arrival.

facilities such as the entertainment complex and shop are only open from mid March to November each year. Outside of this period only laundrette, play park and football/basketball outdoor pitch is available on site.

*entertainment passes for access to complex in evening are not included but cost approximately  from £9.95 /£12.95 per adult and approx £7.95 per child per stay.

Excellently maintained caravan perfectly positioned for all amenities. Spacious and immaculate Malcolm was the consummate host and my children are already asking to return. A lovely week of making memories.

What a find

There can be fewer, if any, areas of England more beautiful than the stunning Northumberland coast.
With a plethora of gorgeous beaches and history in spadesful it is an under-visited county and allows for peace and contemplation.
But to enjoy it at its best, you will need somewhere to stay.
And we can heartily recommend the caravan owned by Malcolm Henderson (MCJ Dog Friendly) on the Cresswell Towers site in the village of the same name.
The accommodation is beautifully situated a short stroll from the sweeping Druridge Bay, a true gem. And the site is bounded by history in the shape of Cresswell Towers, a 15th century pele tower, and the remains of Cresswell Hall stables and garden.
Malcolm was there to greet us on our arrival and he proved to be a most welcoming host, explaining all we needed to know and making sure we were in no doubt he would be on the end of the line if any help was needed.
Entering the caravan we were greeted by a lovely welcome pack, which even included treats for our dog.
The accommodation was very dog friendly, with throws on the upholstery.
We lacked for nothing inside and outside our temporary home. There were chairs, a bench and a table outside and inside, well, we couldn't think of anything necessary which wasn't there.
The caravan has three bedrooms and a very comfortable lounge. The shower was a delight for such accommodation, being lovely and hot.
Everywhere was spotless and clean.
If, like us, you couldn't get a mobile phone signal there is wi-fi broadband.
There is lots to do in the area and the walking is well recommended. Our longest walk was into Amble along the stunning beach, with a coffee break at Druridge Bay Country Park, another fabulous gem.
The area is well served by buses if you don't wish to use your car.
We cannot say anything about the facilities on the park, owned by Parkdean, as we are of that age when they are of no interest to us plus there were still Covid-19 restrictions in place.
One thing is for certain, we are planning a return visit... if Malcolm will have us back!

Booking Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions of Stay

These Booking Conditions form the basis of your contract with us so please read them carefully. Nothing in these Booking Conditions affects your normal statutory rights.

Making your booking

When you book the Property with us you should return the completed Booking Form to us following your payment for the Initial Deposit (non refundable). Please note that the Initial Deposit is only refundable if you cancel your booking within seven days.

Your booking is made as a consumer for the purpose of a holiday and you acknowledge that no liability can be accepted for any business losses howsoever suffered or incurred by you.

Once the Initial Deposit and the completed Booking Form have been received and accepted by us this will form the contract between us and is subject to these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to refuse any booking without the receipt of the signed & completed booking contract. If we do this we will promptly refund any money you have paid to us.

You should carefully check the details of your written contract and inform us immediately of any errors or omissions.

Paying for your booking

To secure your date a deposit is required of £50 payable either via bank transfer or paypal friends and family to the email address below. You are required to send to us your payment for the balance of the Rental and the Security Deposit at least six weeks prior to the Arrival Date as set out in this written confirmation. If you fail to make a payment due to us in full and on time we may treat your booking as cancelled by you. In doing so you will forfeit any money paid upto this point. The deposit will be retained along with any other money paid and no refund a will be issued.

We will hold the Security Deposit to be applied against the reasonable cleaning and/or replacement of the property, furnishings, fixtures and fittings. We will return the Security Deposit to you within 7 days of the return of the keys to us, less any deductions in accordance with the conditions listed above (please refer to the Terms & Conditions of Stay)

If you cancel or amend your booking – please read these carefully

If you need to cancel or amend your booking you must confirm your cancellation/amendment in writing by contacting our Facebook page or email to the required email address.  A cancellation will not take effect until we receive written confirmation from you.

If you cancel your booking within seven days of the date of this written confirmation, we will refund the balance of any money you have paid us. After such period, if you cancel your booking more than six weeks prior to the Arrival Date, we will retain the Initial £100.00 Deposit and refund the balance of any money you have paid to us.

If you cancel your booking less than six weeks prior to the Arrival Date, for any reason including death, serious illness or accident, we reserve the right to retain the Initial Deposit and the Rental you have paid to us. In these circumstances we will refund the Rental (less any additional costs incurred) to you only if we are able to secure an alternative booking for the Property.

It is advisable to purchase holiday insurance to cover for any losses incurred due to cancellation within the 6 week period prior to your stay.

If we cancel or amend your booking

We would not expect to have to make any changes to your booking, but sometimes problems occur and we do have to make alterations or, very occasionally cancel bookings.

If this does happen, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably practical and inform you of the cancellation or the change to your booking and, if it is necessary to cancel your booking, we will refund the balance of any money you have paid us.

Your accommodation

You can arrive at your accommodation after 3pm on the Arrival Date of your holiday and you must leave by 11 am on the Departure Date (Unless a different check in/out time is arranged prior). Should the accommodation be available for an earlier check in time than stated you will be advised on the day of check in. Any unauthorized use of the caravan by The Hirer outside of these dates and times is chargeable and may result in the forfeit of some, or all, of the deposit paid by The Hirer.
Entertainment Passes.
Entertainment passes are not included in the caravan hire cost. If required, these may be purchased at reception on arrival.

Your obligations

You agree to comply with the Regulations and any other regulations reasonably made from time to time and ensure that they are observed by all members of your party.

You agree to keep and leave the Property and the furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glasses, bedding clean and in good condition. All rubbish must be removed from the caravan at the end of your stay and placed in the refuse areas provided on park.

You agree not to cause any damage to the walls, doors or windows of the Property nor to do anything that may be reasonably considered to cause a nuisance or annoyance to us or to any other occupier of adjoining or neighbouring properties.
You agree not to smoke in the property.
The caravan must be left clean and tidy. Any malicious damage, or cleaning costs incurred, signs of smoking £100 cleaning fee, damage to furniture, or the accommodation must be paid for by the hirer and may result in the forfeit of some or all of the deposit.
You agree to lock the main door and windows (secured fully or partly open but secured using the required latches). Upon leaving the property ensure all windows are completely shut and the alarm is re-activated.

You agree to take all necessary steps to safeguard your personal property. No liability to you is accepted in respect of damage to or loss of such property, except where the damage or loss is caused by our negligence. Should you leave anything behind after your stay we will endeavour to return this to you where practically possible (upon receipt of payment of the expenses of doing so if applicable).

You cannot allow more people to stay in the Property than expressly authorised, nor can you significantly change the makeup of the party during your stay in the Property, nor can you take your pet into the Property unless it has been arranged in advance and it is shown on your confirmation. If you do so, we can refuse to hand over the Property to you, or can require you to leave it. We will treat any of these circumstances as a cancellation of the booking by you.

You agree to allow us or any representative of ours access at any reasonable time during your stay for the purpose of essential repairs.
We DO NOT accept liability for injury, loss or damage, suffered by any member of the party.
We strongly recommend that you take out Holiday Insurance to cover accidents, losses, cancellations etc. These policies are available quite cheaply from most insurance brokers


Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday. If however, you have any cause for complaint it is important that remedial action is taken as soon as possible.

It is essential that you contact us if any problem arises so that it can be speedily resolved. It is often extremely difficult (and sometimes impossible) to resolve difficulties properly unless we are promptly notified. Discussion of any criticisms with us whilst you are in residence will usually enable shortcomings to be rectified straightaway. In particular, complaints of a transient nature (for example, regarding preparation or heating of the Property) cannot possibly be investigated unless registered whilst you are in residence.

Any complaints received after your holiday will not be considered as true, as resolving such complaints after your stay is beyond our control. This includes any complaints that may be made by you should there be a dispute in relation to the retention of the bond.

Retention of Security Deposit

In the event that all or part of the security bond should need to be retained due to a failure on your part to adhere to the Terms & Conditions of Stay we will advise you of this as soon possible after you have checked out of the property. If practical photo evidence will be provided to you in support of any monies retained. Any damage over £100 will need to be paid within 24 hours.

Any threats, whether they be verbal, written or physical, made towards ourselves, our property or our representative will be dealt with by the police and the details contained within this written contract will be provided to them.

We will also need a photo of a utility bill/statement with the name and address of the main hirer. This is just proof of who you are and not used in any other way.
