About the Property

Peaceful Holiday Cottage by the sea nestled at the heart of beautiful Cardigan Bay. Sleeps 8 comfortably and up to 10 in four bedrooms with en-suite to master, family bathroom and ground floor cloakroom. Dog & family friendly perfect for couples and friends. Non-smoking. Spacious, relaxing and comfortable retreat with plenty of space for everyone, surrounded by sheltered lawned gardens and providing private gated parking. A peaceful haven and tranquil escape for 5 generations of our family and our guests.
Well equipped with everything you need including free WiFi, linen and towels, Marshbank offers a welcome retreat for travellers.  It is cosy in the winter with a log burning stove at the heart of the living room; and in the summer it is a delight with large windows bathing the interior with sunlight.
Some are content to stay in the peace of the house with occasional forays to explore the varied local walks, from the miles of sandy beach to rockpools and the pre-historic submerged forest, cliff-top coastal walks and peaceful strolls by the tranquil River Leri (Afon Leri). For others Marshbank is a perfect base to explore the many attractions and the wonderful experiences Wales has to offer.

Marshbank has played host to solitary writers looking for inspiration, extended family gatherings and celebrations, multi-family holidays often with children, couples travelling together but enjoying their own space and privacy and many other combinations. We have often seen families, grandparents and friends with overlapping holidays arrive and leave flexibly at different times in order to enjoy a special time together. However the house is not suitable for parties or student groups. Marshbank is a peaceful retreat that works its magic on those who spend time there. Everyone regrets leaving!

Borth is a lovely coastal village which owes its existence to the sea, fishing and boats.  Miles of sandy beach stretch from the headland at Upper Borth to the rolling sand dunes of Ynyslas where the remains of war time defences are still visible.  The Dyfi (Dovey) estuary to the north provides a playground for boating and jet-ski enthusiasts and offers wonderful views across to picturesque Aberdyfi (Aberdovey) set against the backdrop of the hills of Snowdonia National Park.

Behind the village is Cors Fochno (Borth Bog) a haven for wildlife which was designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1976 and is unique in the United Kingdom.
