Lavender Cottage is a 200 year old cottage with lots of  period features (stone walls, beamed ceilings) and has been renovated to a high standard. Found on Eastgate, a tree-lined street just a short stroll from the centre of Pickering. It has 2 bedrooms ( The main bedroom has a King size bed and the second bedroom has a double) and is fully equipped for self-catering guests with WiFi and Freeview TV, providing a real home from home Holiday Cottage for visitors to this beautiful part of the country. Lavender Cottage is dog friendly with a fully enclosed garden.

Whether you’re looking to explore York, Harrogate, Malton, the stunning Yorkshire Moors or visit the coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough or Filey – Lavender cottage is the perfect base and offers a warm welcome from your travels. Booking Terms & Conditions

This contract is between you and Mrs. A Bailey (referred to as ‘we’ or ‘us’) for the provision of holiday accommodation.  We reserve the right to refuse any booking without giving a reason.  Your statutory rights are not affected by anything contained in these terms and conditions.

Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is privately owned, and we pride ourselves on the quality and standard we achieve.  In the event that something is not exactly as expected then please let us know and we will try to resolve it.  In the unlikely event that you have any cause to complain, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our utmost to address and resolve the problem.

The reservation extends from 3pm on the day of arrival and departure time is 10am unless otherwise agreed.  During off-peak times, we may be able to work around these times, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.


For bookings made more than 6 weeks prior to arrival, a deposit of 30% is payable to secure the booking and the balance is due for payment 6-weeks before the date of your holiday.

For bookings made less than 6 weeks prior to arrival, the full rental amount is payable to secure the booking.

Please make cheques payable to Angela Bailey, and send to 41 Park Gate, Strensall, York, YO32 5YL. Or you can pay direct from your Bank, please see our bank details.

Your Obligations

Damage and breakages arising during your holiday must be notified to us. Any serious damage or breakage will be charged at the cost of replacement.

We allow well behaved dogs in Lavender Cottage; however, you must take full responsibility for your pet and they must not be left unattended in the cottage.

Only the number of people detailed on the booking form will be entitled to occupy the cottage.

You are responsible for the insurance of your personal property whilst you are staying with us, please ensure that you are adequately insured especially for valuables.

You will be given the key to the cottage; it is your responsibility to keep the cottage safe and secure.

Right of Entry

Should we need to go into the cottage during your stay, we will where possible arrange with you in advance, but we reserve the right to enter the cottage at reasonable times to check and carry out essential maintenance.

Car Parking

There is on-road parking outside the cottage.  All vehicles are parked at own risk.


Your deposit is non-refundable.  Should you cancel your holiday within 6-weeks of your holiday commencing, then the full balance is non -refundable,

You may wish to consider holiday insurance to protect you against cancellation.

If for any reason beyond our control (e.g., fire, storm damage) and the property is not available on the date booked, a full refund will be made.


We recommend that you take out insurance to protect you against any losses.
